History of Virginia Door

Virginia Door first opened for business in the Tidewater area on
Glasgow Street in Portsmouth as a subsidiary of the Wayne Door
Company in 1959. In 1968 three of the installers, Phil Miller,
Vernon Miller and Merv Troyer, became the owners and moved the
business to a vacant warehouse behind Vernon's house in Chesapeake.
Virginia Door is now owned by Phil and Martha Miller and is located
at 2371 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, Virginia. Virginia Door has
always sold the Wayne Dalton product and has been a member of their
President's Club since its inception. President's Club honorees must
meet the highest standard of quality and service and must
demonstrate business success. Virginia Door sells and installs
residential and commercial overhead doors and electric operators in
the Tidewater area including Williamsburg, Gloucester, Virginia
Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton, Newport News,
Suffolk, Nags Head, Elizabeth City and surrounding areas. Virginia
Door has always placed a high priority on customer service during
the warranty period as well as ten or twenty years down the road.
